Flowerbed
This is the flowerbed we planted Labor Day weekend shown from two different angles. We may add a few more plantings, but it's mostly done. The bed had been sitting empty for almost a year waiting for us to have time and money. We still didn't have either one, but we did it anyway.
The bed turned out lovely, but poor Dwayne is exhausted from the hot, hard work and is further behind with his school paper. I hope he's able to catch up over the next couple of days.

Veronica Visits Downtown Fredericksburg
This is the home of Mary Washington , the mother of George. She resided here in her latter years and it's also where she died. I literally work right across the street from this historic building, so after the tour we used the restrooms at my office and raided drinks from the refrigerator.
We had lunch aboard the "City of Fredericksburg" paddlewheel boat as it cruised the Rappahannock River.

The tour of the Rising Sun Tavern gives you insight into being a traveler during the colonial era. It's rather interesting!
Veronica Visits DC
The boys got to meet their new cousin Veronica. She flew in from Seattle and spent ten days with us. Two of the days were spent touring Washington DC. The kids are in front of the tidal basin with the Jefferon Memorial behind them.
We tried to get a White House tour, but this is the best we could do without six months notice.
It was a long walk to the National Cathedral, but it was an impressive building with a lush lawn for our tired feet to relish.
The Washington Monument was the first of many on an evening walking tour we took around the mall.
There were many historic figures at the wax museum, but Veronica was most excited by the Jonas Brothers who are a favorite band of hers. The real live Jonas Brothers were actually inside the building when we arrived getting their pictures taken with their wax figures, as they were a new addition to the museum.

Holladay Softball Game
We were supposed to have a Holladay vs. Acors softball game. None of the Acors family showed up. I guess they were intimidated. There were enough Holladays to have a Holladay vs. Holladay game. This shot shows Tim giving Heath some advice while Devin heads to home plate. Corbin was anxiously waiting an oppotunity to make a play.
Robert played catcher for both teams, but we had him bat on our team. Dwayne, Devin & I were on the same time and Derrik was on
