Camping

This is the view of the lake from our campsite. We camped with four other families over Labor Day weekend.

Rocky loved the warm sand and the lake when the boats didn't make waves.

Dwayne & Devin did quite a bit of kayaking around the lake.

The campsites on either side of ours and the two across the road were taken by our friends. There is some space between as you can tell in this photo so you can have time to yourself or go visit.

Mom & Dad's Visit

Dad & I at Darrell & Kay's house.

Mom & Dad with three of their grandchildren. Dozer wanted to be included, as you can see.

I took Mom & Dad to Ferry Farm, which is the boyhood home of George Washington. This is the colonial era garden complete with cotton, tobacco, tomatoes and a variety of herbs.

Kay's 42nd Birthday

Kay trying out some of the sheet music she got for her birthday. This was "Beth" by Kiss.

Speaking of kiss...

Dobby was one of Kay's many gifts. She is a black German shepherd pup.

Darrell made chocolate lava cakes for everyone. They were good, but they were big...bigger than it appears in the photo.

JMU Move In

My parents finally got to see the campus as they were visiting when it was time to move Derrik back into college for his sophomore year.

This is outside Derrik's dorm.

Dwayne is really working hard! ;)

This is the last time for a "first day of school" picture. How can he be a senior already?! Devin hopped in and took himself to school. Sob!

Carova Beach

We enjoyed restful, relaxing days on the beach in the Outer Banks of North Carolina for an entire week. Our family of four, plus Rocky, Gina, Farley, Margaret Ann, Brandy & Corbin all stayed together in a four bedroom house.
