Studying

Dwayne has relocated his study space from his basement office to the dining room. I don't know if he missed us or the sunshine. He is now learning business stuff rather then technology. Technology is his cup of tea, but business is not. He's picking it up, though.

Scrapbooking

My friend Kari lives in Maryland, which means we don't get to see each other often enough. She brought her supplies and came down one Saturday and scrapbooked with me. It was fun and relaxing.

Airsoft Guns

Derrik spent his birthday money on a high dollar airsoft gun. He is on the left using a paintball mask for protection. His two school friends Trent & Alan came over to play. Later two other friends came to join them, so we had a yard full of gun-toting teens.
This is a portion of their arsenal.

Alan & Derrik loading their guns with pellets.

Derrik is much more excited about his gun than his expression belies.

Derrik's 17th Birthday w/Friends

Everyone had to check out Scooter and attempt to hold him while he was in "prickle" mode.

Derrik found humor in two friends arguing over who the card was from and then realizing they had bought the same card.

A good group of kids--all are Holladay's, except Barry in the plaid shirt.

Chowing down on pizza and caesar salad, followed by a Georgia mud icecream cake.

Derrik's 17th Birthday w/Family

Derrik got new headphones for his iTouch.

He also got a couple of new hoodies, one plain black and one plaid.

Happy cousins!

He was happy to get Guitar Hero for the Wii.

We had a spaghetti dinner followed by icecream cake.

Snow?

This may be our big snow for the year. We got about 2 inches. It was immediately followed by rain.

Devin managed to make this little snowman before the snow all disappeared.

Scooter

Scooter, a baby African pygmy hedgehog, came to live with us. The boys received a bundle of cash for Christmas and this was how they chose to spend it. He actually had a bad cold, which can be fatal, but we nursed him to health. He moves REALLY fast, unlike Ruby our previous hedgehog, hence the name Scooter. He really scoots.

Dead-Eye Devin

Devin placed this plastic soda bottle into the crook of a tree with the neck of the bottle facing him. From about 30 yards away, he shot with his pellet gun into the neck of the soda bottle and out through the bottom. I was impressed.
