Gingerbread Houses

We gathered at Dwayne's parent's house to decorate gingerbread houses (and a train).

It was fun to have the guys join in on the creativity.

These are Kay and Carla's houses.

The whole crew with their projects.

Thanksgiving

We were just a dozen around the table this year. It was a delicious meal and we all enjoyed being together.

Corbin's 12th Birthday

Corbin was glad his parents and grandparents made it back from Montana the day before his birthday.

The unicycle will prove challenging, but I'm sure he can master it if he puts his mind to it.

Deer Season

Dwayne has had a successful bowhunting season so far. He has shot three deer to stock our freezer & pantry. This particular day he decided to kayak to a hunting spot--which meant he had to load the deer on his kayak to get back.

Cross Country Awards

This is the final stretch of the state meet. In every regional meet, he placed first. Devin came in 14th. The first 20 finishers are ALL STATE RUNNERS and received a medal and certificate.

Growth Hormone Shots

Devin started taking daily growth hormone shots. Erin, a nurse, came to our house one evening to train him. He is supposed to inject the hormone into a fatty area, but he doesn't have any.

Gina's Rendition of Derrik

Gina used this photo and did this artwork of Derrik. It's amazingly good, but it's even more impressive that she started with a charcoal covered piece of paper and erased to make the image.

Halloween

Corbin & his friend Justin came over to trick-or-treat in our neighborhood. Brandy dressed up, but stayed at the house. She handed out candy and played games.

Pumpkin Carving

We needed a large cutting crew to carve sufficient jack-o-lanterns to light our driveway. In reality, we needed about twice as many as we ended up with. I don't think we could handle doing any more pumpkins, though.

Brandy put her initials on her pumpkin.

Darrell is concentrating awfully hard.

Bonfire at the Hockaday's

We had fun roasting hot dogs and taking a hayride on a gorgeous fall evening.

Norris & Richard even joined us for dinner and took the hay wagon ride to get back home.

Donnie has a load of Holladay & Hockaday kids plus a few Morton and Briggs offspring.

Lynn did a wonderful job of planning & decorating. It was a lovely evening.

Retirement Party

Clarence was the senior partner at the firm when I started there. Several years back, he went to semi-retired status. He is officially completely retiring at the end of this year, so the firm had a picnic in his honor at a co-worker's house. We ate crabs, played bocce and just visited on a lovely fall afternoon.

Scooter Moves Out

Sheila is head of the Hedgehog Rescue Society in Maryland. She drove down and picked up Scooter to take him to live with her and let potential adoptive families come meet him. I miss hearing him running in his wheel, but glad he is getting more attention now.
